I have merely bought the Philips DVDR3480 for my mum for Christmas but unfortunately because it have only an analogue tuner, after the digital switchover contained by 2009 she will only be capable of record the subway that she is watching which makes it a bit pointless! I know lb100 sounds ridiculous but things are a bit tight! I could donate her the Philips one for now consequently get her another surrounded by 2009 but that also seems a bit silly. It wishes to be one that records onto disk to some extent than hard drive. Any suggestions?

Ive got equal problem, I have simply bought one for lb99.
However I came to the conclusion that by 2009 the technology and recorder will be alot better anyway so I will buy a more up to date one them. The way that technology advance anything we buy today will be out of date contained by a year or so.
