Series 2 Tivo Sound adjectives out?

I've had a Series 2 Tivo for nearly 2 or 3 years now. The nouns keeps adjectives out and crackling alot. I've tried everything the tivo forums have said to do and changed the audio cable, switched to mono channel, switching ports on the backbone of the tivo but it still does it. Any suggestions?
