I am not sure having the TIVO connected to the internet to download movies and stuff is worth $300 for the box, $300 for the 3-yr repaid plan, and the cablecard. Is it? In the long run what is the best for the money. I of late want to make sure I don't reward $600 for the TIVO and plan if its not going to be worth it after 3 years. With cable company's HD DVR costing around $8 the 3-year TIVO service plan isn't much different than $8/month for 3 years. Just let me know you opinion. Thanks
Answers: I went beside the DVR-love it. Why-your reasons, plus one other. When it breaks, or wants upgrading-it's not my problem-it's the cable company's. As far as the internet is concerned, my TV's hooked-up to my computer.
