I need a device that annals composite or S-VHS inputs and stores the input in a frozen drive for latter retrieveal from an output device such as a USB port. It looks like I might own to actually BUILD a agree on using a CPU, Video input card and large HD. Is within an easier solution? I currently have a invasion board, etc, but have to share the computer near others.
Answers: Well, you could get a separate DVR, but most don't use a format that agree to you easily retrieve the shows after video recording them.
Your best bet really is a computer with a video invasion card in it. Many cards also come next to TV recording software so you can use the PC as a full-blown VCR, and not a short time ago a video transfer encoding software.
There are even USB appropriation cards, that will work with a laptop. They don't have need of that much processing power. Even a decent laptop for roughly $1000 should suffice.
