Answers: no, it requests to be connected to a physical land splash. The newer receivers (R15 and the R16s when they come out) bring back their downloads via satellite because people are more probable to have cell phones. If the drought of download is causing problems, call for DirecTV and see if they can replace it. There may be a fee and commitment, but at tiniest you have one that'll receive its downloads =)
