We are have trouble beside our Directv DVR addressee. DVR doesn't register and it's other inquiring for signal.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?All day long, on most of our channel, we get this message: Searching for signal-771. But, our weak basic heir upstairs works fine, and always have a signal. Directv has be no help any. I was told to reset my box. The rep stayed on the phone near me and said that this will fix my problem. It did momentarily. While I was on the phone next to him, my signal went out again. Then he say, after we had be on the phone for at least 10 minutes, "Well, it looks similar to your area is experiencing some outatges. Give it almost 2 hours." That was a week ago. Their customer service have become too much of a hassle to keep calling pay for. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Has anyone else had this problem?


Answers:    If you enjoy only one cable nouns to the back of your satellite beneficiary, you should be able to examine live TV with no issues. With the Directv model DVR it is requisite to have 2 coax cable connected to both satellite inputs on the back of the addressee. If recording is not an issue, it is a possibly the DVR, the cable itself, an in-line device, or a desperate LNB is to blame. To troubleshoot the DVR you can swap the two receivers, if the problem persist with the DVR, it is fruitless. If the problem switches to the "old" receiver, the problem lies within the cabling or LNB.
I would check the cable connected to the "satellite in" connector on the posterior of the unit to engineer sure it is connected and not damaged. However, if resetting it fixed it temporarily this may not be the problem. I would be annoying with DirecTV. If your box is lease then they should dispatch someone out to take a look at it.
You involve a new box. I have this problem twice with a Directv Tivo heir a few years ago. Depending on what type of DVR receiver you hold, the hard drive contained by them basically melt out after awhile, for lack of a precise term. Or so they told me.
