Directv dvr tivo comfort!?
my old directv tivo brand dvr broke awhile ago. when i call directv all they would volunteer me as a replacement was their d.v.r.
bottomline this d.vr is retarded, and it's my second of the drectv book. it records things at illogical....forgets to record shows i hold picked. basically it's crap. tivo dvr is a billion times better.
can i achieve a tivo dvr on my own? how would that work when i already have directv';s copy. at this point i don't care if i partially to pay outta pocket...this is how fruitless it sucks.. any advice would be great.
appreciation ahead of time!!
Answers: Usually the DirecTV dvr isn't so bad as you fashion it seem. If it's demo things at random it may hold a feature that files programs that it thinks you may close to (this CAN be turned off!). Or, it could own been a refurbished element that still has some planned recordings. If it's forgetting to record things you've picked feel if there could be any sense WHY (such as you told it to record once when you considered necessary it to record a series).
If you want a TiVo brand one you can't bring back it through DirecTV as they no longer partner with TiVo. You can, however purchase one from someone else, however DirecTV will require that you retribution $20 for a new access card for that heir (instead of running the chance that you shutting down up having to salary up to $200 in ppv charges that the previous owner have on there). Even though you have a DirecTV dvr, if you be to have a TiVo as ably you would only be charged the $5.99 dvr allowance once as it is a service fee, not per-receiver duty.
A good place to look would be ebay as abundantly of people are looking to put on the market theirs. Also, you could look for one at local yard sale when that season comes around. Just keep contained by mind that you could end up next to a dud doing that, so be careful beside what you purchase.
call customer service and explain the problem to them and they should be capable of help you
