I saw that Hauppauge-WinTV-HVR-1600 supports QAM. Are there any other cards? Also, I'm using Windows XP (not medium edition) so I would prefer to use cards that don't have compatibility issues beside that.

Answers: I think you've started surrounded by the right place with Hauppauge. Others include ATI, Avermedia, the MDP-130 from Macroimage, The Dvico Fusion III. I would also look at the "homerun". I suspect that this might do the charge for you without taxing your CPU as much as the others. I'm sure the Guides respectively of these offer come and go in user friendliness, and I doubt any will be as worthy as MCE.
