DVD-R disks record on DVD recorder but not save?

Can these dvd-r disks be finalized in a different DVD recorder than the one that be initially used. The orignal recorder was defective.
Thanks

Answers:    Read your user guide, the part that explains "Finalising". if you don't finalise the disc after it ain't going to work except on the machine you record it on.& No they must be finalised on the original recorder.
If the disks be burned with a defective DVD burner, they're probably corrupted in a minute and won't work. My guess is no.
