start here, this will answer the basic ?? for you. how much $$ do you want to spend within upgrading your pc(if it doesn't have a dvd burner (and dvd is the path to go here),ample memory/hard drive space) or buying a video card/usb solution to input video onto your hard drive. the usb to video input solution is simple emough, and mostly cheaper, but the quality is not as suitable. if you have irreplaceable vhs ( nuptial video, etc) this is the way to budge, but if the stuff is commercially available ( blockbuster) , you can get a much better, cleaner copy by copying the dvd ( gray nouns of the law here. my thought is if it's for you and you alone travel for it. mass producing dvd's will have the mpaa knock on your door with the police)
