How do i disable the parental controls on directv, should i reset it or what cause i cant remember my password


Answer: Clear and Delete All still will not change the Parental Locks. I found a thread at http://www.dealdatabase.com which I will post the thread below that has a fix. This is what it is:
connect to Tivo IP using the http browser.
establish a connection to tivoweb
click on the MFS module
click on the State link
click on LocksLimit link
look for Password Value

Hope this helps you out, If you do not have your Tivo connected to a home wired/wireless network and do not have access to TivoWeb then here is another way to get the Password. You would need to buy or make a Serial Cable to connect to the Tivo. Here is this style fix..
I ran into this same issue (parental control locked and I didn't have to code) but I didn't have a network adapter so tivoweb was not an option for me. I did however have a serial cable, and here's what I did to fix the problem.

1) Make or buy serial cable
2) Get Bash access via the cable (would also work from and ethernet conneciton)
3) Download and install Alphawolf's All-in-one S2 binaries via the cable (I found it in this forum, but you really just need the two programs mfs_ls and mfs_dumpobj)
4) type the command:
mfs_ls /User
and notice the number under the "name" column that is displayed (mine was 3604)
5) then type the command
mfs_dumpobj /User/3604 (substituting your number for mine)

you will get a long listing of user settings and in it will be an entry that looks like:
Password[17]=6562

in this case 6562 would be your password.

Depending on the receiver model, you may be able to reset everything which may restore the receiver to factory defaults. Other than that you may need to replace the receiver or take about three hours to go through 10000 possible codes.

Reset, Reset Everything or in the case of DirecTivo's Clear and Delete everything WILL NOT reset the parental controls.
You will hae to call directv, they will send a signal to reset the parental control password
