If I use and S-Video Splitter will it diminish the video aspect?

I am considering using an S-Video splitter to provide an HD video signal to both my media center laptop and my HD TV. Will splitting the s-video signal from the digital cable terminal lower the figure quality?

Answers:    S-Video CAN'T convey HD signals.
You will need any an HDMI splitter or a component splitter for HD signals.
If your source is cable, you can also use an RF splitter (assuming your laptop has an RF input).
