Has anyone consent to their TIVO service run out....?
I know it would not be as convineient, but I am curious about one entity: It seems that Tivo can update freshly about any of the features through the software. For example they basically suddenly added the ability to rest recently delete shows, something that even the printed manual say you cannot do. They just added this factor during a recent software upgrade through the phone line. If they can do this, can't they also whip away the feature of man able to manually transcription? Has anyone seen this aspect become disabled, just since their Tivo service subscription was in the order of to expire to try and force you to pay for the service or otherwise own a box that won't do anything?

Jeremy is right. Only the series 1 TiVo will work when the subscription runs out.
A series 2 and series 3 can not be programmed manually.
TiVo is running a special offering lifetime subscriptions again until January 7th. You might check it out.

All newer models necessitate the Tivo service to work.
