I have record some shows on a normal dvd recorder using a dvd+rw. When I delete a 2 hrs-show, the space used(2 hrs) was not returned put a bet on to me!
It is a r/w so the space can be reused but why like this?

Depending on the brand/model of your DVD recorder, it's possible that by evasion, it shows how much time you've got not here to record at the standard level speed (SP), which would only be 2 hours total on a blank. If you've record 6 hours of shows at the extended speed (SLP?) which gives you 6 hours total, and you delete 2 hours worth of shows, you will own only 40 minutes available at standard element (SP), which is still 2 hours at extended (SLP).
