You can other run an Ethernet Cable which would be almost twice as fast. You would stipulation a Linksys USB200m or Netgear FA-120, these are USB Ethernet Adapters, then you connect the Ethernet cable from the Tivo and Ethernet Adapter to your homes wired/wireless router.
I own both USB Ethernet Adapters I listed above connected to my Tivo unit and connected to my Linksys wireless G router via a Ethernet Cable. I can still connect wirelessly from my laptop into my Tivo for transfering. It takes more or less 15-20 minutes for me to transfer a 2.5-3 hour movie this track.
A Ethernet Cable will transfer at 100Mb per second and a Wireless G will verbs at up to 54Mb per second. A Wireless B will ONLY transfer at 11Mb per second. So depending on which Wifi you are using will determine your speeds.
The Tivo series 2 near software version 7.1 or complex can use the Wireless G USB Adapter or the USB 2.0 Adapters i listed above. If you are using the Old USB 1.1 Drivers which you could lone use the Wireless B, then switching up to Wireless G would be GREATLY Improved..
