Directv hd-dvr?
1. Considering I pay $10 a month for the hd, how much extra would the dvr cost per month. Also, if anyone have switched from the normal hd box to a hd-dvr box, how much did it cost to do that.
2. Is it worth it? Do you guys consistency like it is worth it to formulate the switch?
3. Would you reccomend a separate tivo box instead if it isnt worth it. Would a tivo box even work with a directv hd box?
Thanks for any back to get me started...
Answers: 1) DVR service is an second $5.99, a licensing duty just approaching you would pay if you subscribed to TiVo services (I chew over they charge more, though, so you'd want to check that). If you were to upgrade, it'd be any a one-time lease fee of $199 near a 24-month commitment or a full purchase of $749 without the duty.
2) I haven't used one of the HD-DVRs myself (planning to get one surrounded by the future) but I've heard greatly of good things. They also own more recording time than the standard DVR.
3) If you don't resembling the cost of the upgrade, you can absolutely use a standalone TiVo part. It essentially connects to your setup the same route you would connect a VCR, and then you configure the section to accept DirecTV programming. You a moment ago have to recompense a separate subscription fee to them.
Just grasp the HD DVR from Directv...it will make things alot easier for you. DVR service is $5.99 a month, or you can gain the Plus HD DVR package for $69.99. If you hold Premier service right now, you'd in recent times add the DVR service separate for the $5.99. If you upgrade to HD DVR it is $199 for the HD DVR, $100 for the install, and $19.95 for the shipping and handling. You wont carry your money back on the regular HD that you own right now.
Yes it is worth it. You can transcription in HD.
Dont seize a separate Tivo....Tivos are just standard def, plus Tivo service through Tivo is resembling $12 a month.
I agree with the poster above. Plus, if you run two separate lines to your DVR you can keep watch on one channel while video recording another since it has dual tuners.
