What channel to you take near Tivo and in recent times elemental cable service?

I was thinking roughly ditching my cable dvr box and getting a Tivo, however I don't want to lose channels and be wondering if I would only go and get the basic cable channel with the Tivo, or if the Tivo service have it's own channel lineup. Thanks for any assistance beside this.

Answers:    Number 1: If you have digital channel through your cable provider then your cable DVR is both a Cable box and a DVR. If you ditch it later you will need a cable box from the cable provider so that TiVo will know how to get adjectives of your channels.

Number 2: TiVo doesn't certainly supply any channels, it lately allows you to manipulate the existing dike lineup from your cable provider.

Number 3: There are 3 models of TiVo, if you are ever planning on getting HD television channel through your cable provider I would recomment the TiVo HD DVR. It doesn't need a cable box from your cable provider, only just 2 cablecards, and it will be able to function on every trench your cable provider offers (Minus OnDemand b/c it requires 2-way communication and if they use Switched Digital Video)

Hi Cheryl C,

Your TiVo will receive all the channel you currently get. Ditching your cable DVR box won't affect the channel you get and TiVo is so much better.

We prefer TiVO because of simplicity of use. The agenda is always correct because it is updated every light of day. I can program TiVO to record from out of town over the Internet. TiVO learn what you like and recommend shows that you might like. Often times we never would hold known they be on. You can program an entire season of a given series with a single click and TiVO never forgets. You can relate TiVO you like someone or something and it will locate shows for you. For example if you let somebody know it you like John Wayne it will keep watch on for and record anything he is on.

I could travel on and on about TiVO. There is one downside and i.e. the monthly (you can pay once a year if you want) fee.

To swot all more or less TiVO check their web site here - https://www3.tivo.com

Check the TiVO user forum here - http://www.tivocommunity.com

I hope this help you make the best verdict.

guy above is wrong, if you ditch your DVR you will lose all digital channel you have and if you hold HBO or anything like that you will lose those as economically. Tivo is good but I can't visualize you are going to get it cheaper later what you pay for a DVR though cable.
Also monitor out for the HD Tivo, the cable cards have be a big pain near the box and it has have a lot of troubles in that are only 3 contained by my cable system and everyone has have trouble with getting cards on the box. Plus until two cards come out you lose your on demands and stuff resembling that
