DVD/HDD recorders are extraordinarily popular in Japan. You can text programs onto a built-in HDD. It's very effortless to use. You can press the rec buttton, and your favorite program is recorded onto the HDD. You don't look for a DVD medium to record on. Of course, you enjoy an option to copy the record programs onto a DVD later when you own time. Once you use it, you don't want to miss it.
Here in the States, we see few models sold within the market. I don't know why DVD/HDD recorder are not so popular. The manufacturers approaching Sony or Panasonic sells profoundly of DVD/HDD recorders surrounded by Japan, but not here.
Does anyone know why?
Answers: I think it's not as popular here contained by the States but you can still find a few good models. I love my Pioneer DVD recorder. I reflect the transition to HD broadcast in US make the comsumer hestitant for their next purchase. Should I procure a HD-DVD player or a Blu-Ray DVD player? Remember, until the price of these comes down, Adding the HDD would push the price range out of achieve for many those.
