How do I copy vhs home movies to dvds?
Thanks
Answers: Transferring VHS to DVD - buy a DVD recorder. This is essentially close to a VCR, but uses burnable DVD discs instead of VCR tapes.
Connect your DVD recorder to your TV as typical.
Now connect the VCR's output to one of the inputs on the DVD recorder.
Turn on your TV, VCR and DVD recorder. Set the TV to use the input the DVD recorder is plugged into. Set the DVD recorder's input to the one the VCR is connected to. This is usually something like "IN1" or something similar.
You'll know you enjoy everything hooked up right when you can hit play on the VCR, and the image appears on your TV.
Ok, immediately just insert a blank DVD-R disc into your DVD recorder. Cue up the VCR to where on earth you want to start recording and hit time away on the VCR. Hit Record on the DVD recorder. Hit play on the VCR to have it resume playing. The DVD recorder is immediately recording anything is playing on the VCR. When you're finished, hit stop on the DVD recorder, and stop on the VCR.
DVD-R can usually hold 2, 4 or 6 hours of footage. I'd recommend only doing 2 or 4 hours to save the video quality glorious.
Once the DVD-R is full, you will need to finalize it. This allows the disc to play on any DVD player - including the one contained by your PC. Most DVD recorders allow you to do some incredibly basic editting - such as naming respectively track on the disc. If you want to do fancier things - like customizing the menu, adding up other content, etc. you will need to use a DVD authoring packet on your PC. You can just use the DVD you created to introduction those videos onto your PC. The authoring bunch will also let you create a slideshow of photos and introduction music tracks from CDs or other digital formats.
Transferring VHS to DVD will require some work.
One way is to connect your VHS player (or if you enjoy a camcorder) to a PC. You can capture the outputting signal on your rock-hard drive. This will allow you to edit the content to fit one or abundant VHS segments onto your DVD once editing is done.
