I am trying to covert all my sons prehistoric disney tapes to dvd for my daughter. I bought a dvd recorder beside a built in vhs for dubbing and I tought I be set.I paid approaching $250.00. I was competent to copy the first tape ANTZ , ( Dream Works Pictures) near no problems. Then I tried A Bugs Life, ( Disney / Pixar) and it said copy protected cannot copy. I tried other tapes beside no success. Disney, Pixar, Dream Works, Universal. For doesn`t matter what reason Antz worked immediately nothing else will. ANy assistance I can get would be appreciated. I am only just trying to avoid having to buy adjectives the dvd's when I allready have the tape.

Hi John,
Almost all pre record VHS tapes are copy protected. What you want to do is official and you can do it with a device resembling "Sima T120 GoDVD". It removes the copy guard and enhances the picture. You plug your source into it and plug it into the input of your recorder. In your travel case you need a separate VHS player. Feed the output of the VHS through the Sima and into the input on your DVD recorder.
I get mine at Best Buy. It was $49.95. It works in good health and I had no problems next to it.

My copies came out pretty well-mannered. Not DVD quality but no problem acceptable viewing level.
