We've been have problems with the Tivo lately, it take forever for the channels to adaptation, and when it does the picture is choppy for a few seconds and this cause the Tivo to be a few seconds bringing up the rear which gets annoying. My girlfriend go to Best Buy and happened to ask what the issue could and be told the Tivo could be "burnt out". Is this possible? I ve have it for 2 years, does it need to be replaced? if so what are my option? (will Tivo replace it?)

Most tivo problems involve a worn out hard drive. It sucks that it happen so soon. I heard that the lifespan of a tivo is roughly speaking 5 years, depending on use. It won't pay to own it repaired, so you might consider replacing it. Last time I was surrounded by a best buy, they were offering a dual tuner series 2 tivo near 80 hours recording time for give or take a few $100 (after a rebate).
Go to tivo.com and see if they are offering any rebates.
