Is a digital tuner needed surrounded by a plasma near full dignified definition already?

i want to buy this dvd recorder and there are 2 types: one next to digital tuner, the other with no digital tuner.
does the digital tuner breed the picture any clearer?


Answers:    The digital tuner is for picking up a digital signals over the air. So you would own to buy an antenna that picks up that signal. I bet it says ATSC on it. Yes the tuner would manufacture for a good picture near an antenna.
