Can Sony presently contend accomplishment?

Warner Bros. which is the leading distributor of DVDs have finally gotten off the balustrade and deciced to support the Blue-Ray format exclusively. Is there any accidental that the HD format of Toshiba will be able to overcome this most modern setback?

Answers:    Doubful that HD can overcome it. It is apparent the format period of war will be chosen by who is willing to write the biggest payoff check, and not what the consumers want.
Hi crosseyedlemon,

I don't really surmise Sony has won - all the same.

HD DVD (Toshiba) vs Blu Ray (Sony).

The battle rage and it looks like consumers will own to face a dual format much close to the dash R and plus R DVDs.

Samsung & LG already grant dual format machines and others will follow. This probably means both formats will survive.

Both use interactive menus but differences are – Blu-Ray size is 50Gb and HD-DVD is 30Gb. HD-DVD is region free while Blu-Ray is divided into three regions. (Figures Sony will try to stick it to the consumer) A disadvantage to HD-DVD is they are not all knotty coated as are the Blu-Ray. HD-DVDs scratch as efficiently as regular DVDs while the Blu-Ray are more scratch resistant.

Unless Blu Ray capture all the hollywood movie and porn market both formats will be around for a long time.
