Cox Dvr problem?

We just bought a up to date dvr from cox and i wanted to register a show well i go to the guide and selected the show and preesed story well subsequent that day i looked-for to watch it so i wen t to the dvr index and selected and pressed play and it said it be playiong but it wasn't i tried recording something else but like thing happen what is wrong with the dvr?

Check the nouns from the DVR to your TV. You probably have something connected wrong or you could own a bad cable.
