google the software

most formats play contained by dvd players.. unless it's a cheapo

google the brad dvd you have and see what format it accept
You can burn the AVI files directly to a DVD as a regular data folder.
Any standard DVD player that plays DIVX will play these AVI files.
Remember to get DVD player that plays DIVX. There's a cheaper Philips player which is pretty devout.
I found an awesome product over the net by cucusoft which
converts avi to dvd etc. Happily copied tons movies check out the site cucusoft.com it costs about 35 dollars to purchase they also except paypal. I like this product because it allows you to see a preview of the movie before you convert it it also allows you to auto fly to disc mode which automatically converts and burns to disc the other smart thing give or take a few this software is it allows you to change the plane of quality so you could put a 3-4hr movie on one disc to some extent then 2 approaching a Harry Potter for instance I mean only just a plain dvd-r not a Dvd-r dl. I would also check put another program called artifice copier can find on limewire with a switch registration this software allows for great dvd to dvd burning.

Use nero.
http://www.nero-download.info/
Install it and start it up. If it has smartstart, selet receive video DVD. If not start the program and selet Video DVD. It re-encodes it on the fly toi a special form of MPEG-2 which is what home DVD players play.
If you have a correctly recent player it should play AVI files. But if your not sure, use nero to be on the safe side.
u necessitate to convert them to divx format, if ur dvd player supports divx.

to do that, go to download.com and explore for divx converter for windows 6.7..they convert ur avi and burn it to ur dvd as very well.
