My DVD recorder wont tolerate me finalize my dvd+rw?

Hi i have a cyberhome DVD recorder. i hold recorder four movies on it and it still has 17% free ( it is a 4.7 gb DVD) and it say " click edit to edit" so i click bowdlerize and it says "delete, protect, rename, a-b delete, format, finalize" i can click adjectives the things except for finalize. someone please help me!

Answers:    RW = Re-Writable DVD. The recorder closes respectively session on an RW disc to be playable on other machines. No finalizing required.
Only -R and +R discs need to be finalized. Once finalized you cannot incorporate any more recordings - the disc is closed.
DVD RAM discs are also not finalized, and will only be readable by a electrical device compatible with DVD RAM ( not adjectives are).
