Is the DirectTV Tivo remote compatible near a regular Tivo Series2 DVR?

I purchased an extra remote for my regular Tivo Series2 and didn't realize it was the DirectTV branded one until I open the package. Can I still use this near my DVR?

I can't say for sure but you can buy a TiVo remote on eBay for smaller amount then $10.00.
