What's the difference between DVD+ and DVD-?
Answers: Hi Mamoudou,
The DVD+R and DVD-R are competing formats much like the aged VHS and Beta formats in video tape. Today most drives are Hybrid and handle both formats. They are usually labeled DVD+/-R
The open market for recordable DVD technology shows little sign of settling down in favor of any the plus or dash formats, which is mostly the result of the increasing numbers of dual-format devices that can narrative to both formats; it has become immensely difficult to find new devices that can singular record to one of the formats. However, because the DVD-R format have been within use since 1997, it has have a five-year lead on DVD+R. As such, elder or cheaper DVD players (up to 2004 vintage) are more likely to favor the DVD-R standard exclusively, and when creating DVD’s for distribution (where the playing section is unknown or older) the DVD-R format would normally be preferable.
My personal experience have led me towards using the +R. It is slightly better at error handling so more tolerant of dirty or undermined media and also more tolerant to the subtle differences between players.

Different formats, resembling beta and vhs in the video days
Two formats:
DVD+R/DVD+RW (DVD+ or DVD plus) and the DVD-R/DVD-RW (DVD- or DVD minus) are DVD recordable formats and developed to store notes on a DVD recordable disc that can be played on a DVD(-ROM) player. DVD+/-R stands for DVD recordable and can only be record once, DVD+/-RW stands for DVD re-writeable, and this discs can be written and erased, making it possible to record them up to give or take a few a thousand times.
Depending on your machine they enjoy different facilities approaching automatic/manual chaptering.
The DVD- format is compatible with a moment ago about every player available because it be released before the DVD+ format!
