Whats the matter beside hd radio ?
Answers: HD Radio is a huge marketing mistake. I say that because it's adjectives marketing for the stations, and the way it have been market is a huge mistake.
HD stands for Hybrid Digital -- although even in the tech press you'll see it call High-Def radio. The confusion comes because, like TV, the nouns is digital and somewhat clearer. Although for most folks listening to radio surrounded by their cars, it could be hard to discern.
Like with digital TV, HD radio give the stations the power to put new content over the upper air. Some rock stations have gone beside album tracks, new stations next to all-weather, that sort of stuff. What was once confined to subsidiary internet streams can now be digitally broadcast to a slightly wider audience.
HD Radio is more of a marketing article than a technical one.
HD Radio is unsophisticatedly a given radio station overlaying the analog signal w/ a digital one over the same bandwidth, allowing that station to broadcast multiple services. Could be an alternate format, could be information, could be anything a station could make money on.
The HD cog of HD Radio doesn't stand for anything (not even High Def), but it does sound righteous piggybacking onto the digital TV push.
