Has anyone found a good universal remote sontrol? i bought one but it didn't seem to work?

Answer:
I have bought several over the years and have never had a problem. The trick is having the patience to test all the codes for your particular brand of television. Some universal remotes actually have a feature that by you pressing a few buttons on the remote, it syncs itself up to your television. I think an RCA universal remote has this feature which can be picked up at Target or Walmart for around $10. (No need to have an RCA television to use the remote.)

Good luck!
I have never found a good universal remote control, all of them only control basic functions, they don't for instant adjust
the timer or clock on video recorders, or allow you to tune channels in.
The few I have had worked, but none did what I wanted them to do.
You need to program them to work with your equiptment usually with a number, but some equiptment will not work with any of the numbers presented.
This one is great and used to sell for over £100, get the usb connection lead so you can upgrade the software if required.

But look around for a better price.
Harmony Remotes are the best out there.
I have a 5 in one called the kameleon universal remote control. It does everything from basic tv functions to operating freeview and satalite tv. It costs £49.99 from argos.
go with a Harmony remote, it programs with your computer and all you need to know is the make and model and the remote does it all from there. I love mine
