Buy in a minute or next?
Answers: HDTV prices are falling, and they will verbs to fall. It really depends on how long you choice to wait.
Prices tumble by half by summer? I seriously doubt it. Maybe a quarter to a third by this time subsequent year. At least that's be the pattern for a while immediately. That's a substantial decrease.
There is other better technology coming down the road, and it will be expensive when it does come. In the near possession, LCDs are starting to come out with LED backlights, on the premium priced sets. In the subsequent year or two the big buzz seems to be on OLEDs, Organic Light Emitting Diodes. But larger sets at 40"+ won't be available for a while, and they will be pricey when available.
My counsel is this. Set up a price point and size in your mind. Then when the sets of those size hit that price point, buy.
My price point be $2k for a 1080p set of 50" or larger. Has been for at lowest a year now. Finally that price point arrived around Christmas time, and after shopping and doing research, I bought mine second week.
