How do I connect my laptop via s-cable to my LCD TV?? I have all the right cables and leads, but won't work??
Answer:
On most laptops you have to select the external video by pressing a combination of keys - usually the function key (often labeled 'Fn' on the key), plus the display key. The display key often has a screen icon marked on it.
Hold down the Fn key while you press the display key this should select the external video output and route the video down the patch cable to the TV.
The TV must also have the SVHS port selected as active.
Generally you will get some sort of picture but as the last poster said you could have trouble getting a recognisable image if the screen resolution of the laptop is something greater than SVGA 800x600.
If this is the case you may need to right click on the desktop with your mouse, select properties, then lower the screen resolution to something the TV can handle.
Good luck and give it a go ...

Once you connect the cable to both the PC and the TV, then you have to do 2 more things - you have to tell the computer that you want the display to go out using that signal - I think you do that in the Control Panel...
AND THEN... you have to tell the TV where the signal is coming from. You should have a button on the remote called "input" or "source". Use this button and SLOWLY scroll through the options until the S-Video option is chosen.
That should do it.
