Should I buy a refurbished DLP TV?

I'm thinking of buying a DLP TV from eBay to get a better price, but a lot of the products that have a good price (nothing exceeding $1000) are refurbished. What does refurbished mean and do these TV's operate on the scale of a new/slightly used TV?

Answer:
You can get a 42" samsung DLP from sears that is a little under $1000 bucks. I would rather get one new. EBAY is not not the place to buy expensive electronics.
maybe you should if you think they will take care of it
