I need help buying a 42 inch plazma t.v what is the best and what is plazma and what is liquid plazma?

Answer:
Well first off it is spelt plasma, and secondly there is no such thing as liquid plasma (I assume you are referring to Liquid Crystal Display - LCD).

Currently the best value for you money is the Panasonic system. The new Panasonic(TH42PX75) came out a reasonable price. So I would take a look at that. Otherwise there are a lot of reasonable panels out there.

But in case you want to take a look out there at different technologies I will give you a guide to help you decide which technology to go for:

Is it going in a bright or dark room?
Bright - LCD
Dark - Plasma

What are you going to be watching on it?
Normal TV (non-HD channels), Movies - Plasma
HD Channels - LCD are just as good as most plasma

Are you going to be playing games on it? Hooking up a PC to it? Definitely go with an LCD

Based on the size that you are looking at, both plasma and LCD are pretty much at the same price range.

Well I hope that helps.
You don't want a plasma TV; go for an LCD TV.
There is no such thing as liquid plasma. You must be refering to liquid crystal display, or LCD, tv's. They are just a different (better) technology for flat panel television.

I sell electronics for a living. Even in a dark room, plasma is crap.

If you want flat panel, go with LCD. Why?

Plasma has a glass front. Even in darker rooms, it is reflective and annoying. LCD does not have reflective front.

Plasma uses more electricity. You could practically heat your house with it. But seriously, it is going a lot hotter which is harder on the components.

Plasmas can get burn-in images. Leaving the same image on the screen (video games, dvd start screens, etc...) especially if it is flashing like in a video game, it can cause images to permanently burn into your screen. LCDs do not have this problem.

Plasma tv's have a fixed pixel aspect ratio. This basically means that you can see the pixels, or squares, more easily. LCD's do not have this problem.

Plasma tv's tend to have a higher contrast ratio. This means blacker black and whiter white. They ALLEGEDLY have better color too, but both of these can sometimes be unnoticable because of a washed out look you can get by looking through relfective glass.

Buy an LCD TV. Sony is great. Samsung would be my next recomendation.
i would say that pioneer and Panasonic are among the best
and do allot of research. you might want to check out

if you get a good brand you shouldn't have a problem
with burn in
