With a simple vga cable, I hooked up my pc to my hp plasma box to use as my monitor, and I'm getting slightly dark band rising up the screen slowly on the picture. Usually I figure this would be associated with the stimulate rate but I can only obtain down to 60hz, and when I try to change it better, it gets even worse so it seem like the total screen is flickering. Any concept of what the problem and solution could be?
Thanks!
Answers: It is a ground loop - the grounds for the computer, tv, cable etc are all connected to your electrical ground contained by different places, and the lines are caused by current flowing between the grounds on your connections. Try isolating next to a good aspect power bar from Monster, etc. Not the cheaper ones, but the true protection bar, usually $100 and up.
Replace the cable? Refresh on most tv's is 60hz.
