please give some advise on this subject.

Answer:
Your top of the line full 1080p set is the Sony Bravia XBR 3 Series, either the KDL40XBR3, or the KDL46XBR3. A second to the top would be the samsung top 1080p models, the LNT4065 or the LNT4665.
This is a tough one, you'll get a lot of people who have their favorite. But if you want the best picture, the Sony XBR is supposed to be the top. It also costs a lot more than the others.

Next would be Samsung, Sharp Aquos, LG or Toshiba REGZA. Look at them all in the store, take your time watching all the screens. The difference isn't that much.

My opinion? I just saw the new Toshiba REGZA and I like the look of the picture a lot.

Also, not all stores carry all the brands, so you'll have to shop around.
I would have to say get a sony I think their top of the line right now. Second in line would be a maxent simply cuss thats what i have and it's pretty nice.
Sony XBR is the top of the line. Full 1080p resolution, quality components, great design.

Samsung is my second choice, they have a few in 1080p, but even the ones at 1080i look great, and their styling is my favorite of all the brands.
