How do i convert to HD?
Answer:
To get an HD picture, you need 3 things.
1.) An HD capable television. You already have that.
2.) HD service. Contact your cable or satelite company, they will charge you per month for this. Alternatively, you can pick up some local channels with rabbit ears in HD if you are in an area to pick up a good signal.
3.) Through satelite or cable company, you will need an HD reciever to decode their signal. They could either sell this to you or lease it to you. It will cost more than a regular reciever most likely.
You cannot "convert" a non HD signal into HD. If you want to convert DVD's to high definition, get an upconverting DVD player and hook it up with an HDMI cable.
you need to get a new cable box that supports HD. You also should get nice cables connecting the systems together which I forget the name of...but they're red, blue and yellow I think. They'll make a big difference. Once you go HD, you'll never want to go back to reg!
You cannot convert regular cable or DVD into high def. You need to upgrade all your equipment and services.
1) Get digital cable set top box and HD service.
2) Buy a HD-DVD or BluRay DVD player to get high def DVD movies.
3) Buy a PS3 or Xbox 360 and connect through HDMI or component and get high def gaming.
Ok, If you have an HDTV what you need is to upgrade to the HD service provided to you by your cable or whatever source you are using. What you will also need is an HDMI cable. People say you dont need these but it is the best and only way to run HD audio and video from your HD box to your tv. You can find this cable at any best buy, they have the best brand... "MONSTER!" I love monster. I have it on my tv now and it is amazing. good luck
