I bought a Philmore Universal Remote for my cable box audio tv etc?

but i have a shaw digital cable box and i want to use the philmore converter with the shaw cable box but it doesent work can someone help me.

First you say you have a Philmore Universal Remote, then you call it a philmore converter. I'm confused. If the Philmore remote won't work the cable box, then get one that will. Simple.
