What keeps happening is the closed captioning will be on for a few days and then mysteriously disappear. Then a week later it reappears. This cycle keeps happening. I have TIVO, Qwest cable, and a Philips TV. Each of them blame the other. So why is it going on and off? So that is why I am blaming the ghost. Do I need to buy a new tv? By the way I already read each instruction pamphlet several times with no ado. Maybe my ghost is deaf??
Answer:
Although this is a long shot it might be a possibility.
Have you already figured out from which device the closed captioning is happening? What do you do when it happens? Are you able to turn it off?
If you are able to turn it off when it happens, I wonder if one of the other remotes outputs a signal that is the same as the one that turns on closed captioning? I used to have a remote (not for the TV) that when you pushed a certain button would change the channel on my old TV. Maybe this is what is happening?
hmm call the Ghostbusters
