What's the difference between plasma TV and LCD TV?
Answers: I don't know the technical differences, but LCDs enjoy a longer life-span and are not prone to burn-in like plasmas are.
Simple answer:
Plasma - Light emit electrically charged gas under pressure similar to a flourescent oil lamp. Bright high contrast pictures and great detail at a complex price than LCD. Best for larger screen TV sets. Possibly shorter enthusiasm than LCD set but varies near which
set manufacturer you choose to buy your TV set from. Sensitive to boil and generate a lot of warmth so should be kept
in a cool environment away from fireplaces and direct sunlight.
LCD - Liquid Crystal Display which process it is a crystaline structure which rearranges itself to allow muted through it based on the signal applied to it. Needs a wispy source behind it to work but uses far smaller number electricity than the Plasma set (again how much depends on which set you buy). Lowest power consumption models would use LED (light emitting diode) street light source instead of flourescent lamp flimsy source behind the display. Longer natural life because the only item which needs repair unless the eyeshade is damaged due to scratch, dropped set or too much heat is the flourescent light. Still somewhat sensitive to heat but not as much as Plasma.
LCD uses a backlight that pases through solution crystals and a color filter. LCD's also are imune to burn-in and have a longer go. Plasma TV's use a backlight that pases through energized "Plasma" to produce a brighter picture. Plasma's are bad roughly burn-in and their screens can inflict glare. I recommend LCD.
Plasma get HOT...LCD is fragile.
If you want to see more realistic, deeper colors, sharper pictures, buy a plasma. If you want to see dvd movies on your tv, buy a plasma. If you want to watch tv, buy an lcd. at least possible there is not the difficulty of burn-in in lcd tvs. I enjoy a plasma tv but I can't stay at a channel for more than one hour:((. But its picture aspect is so good. I mull over the best is crt tvs.
