37" OLEVIA LCD HD TV - Do I need to buy a HDMI Cable?
Answer:
Yes. You don't need it on day 1, but I recommend getting an HDMI cable if you want to watch HD. It is a digital picture as opposed to analog, it also carries a digital sound signal. If you don't want to but HDMI you will still need component cable to get HD and that will run around $40-50 depending on length.
I have 37" wide screen HDTV. Yes you need the cables. And HD subscription to your sat/cable provider. Little something the retailers forget to tell you.
If you dont care about picture clarity then NO. I recently just purchased a sylvania 42" with a DVD recorder , it also has a HDMI capablity. I didnt buy it ... but I probably will... you can find some for 60-100 ... Guys love it for the sports so they can see all the action clearly... but it is DEFIANTELY a clearer pic.
You'll need some kind of cable to input into your TV.
You might be able to do it with a much lower cost set of video/audio patch cables- but, you will lose a bit of image quality.
Oh- if they charge you $100 for an HDMI cable, go out and buy one yourself for half that. Best Buy probably has them for $50-$60. Probably cheaper ordering on line.
