But today most TVs hold these things built in. They run for a little when the TV starts up. Computer monitors have them too.

Well I have see magnets degauss a television set I also enjoy seen degaussers but these are only electro magnets really. The way they are used as I saw is to undulation these in front of the TV side to side and up and down, not on the eyeshade but about a foot away.

If you can find anything to "demagnatize" the TV you can use it I reflect on. Start at about 6 inches away, moving contained by a circle & slowly move back until your picture is average oh probably 5 feet or so. Move any hoary VHS tapes you might own laying close as sometimes it will ruin them.
