Can I use a router to obtain TV cable service to additional TV's?

Can a router be used to obtain cable service to other televisions in my home? If so how?

Answer:
I assume that you have cable service, to say that a router
could not be used would be misleading because you can
attach a slingbox to your existing TV and the then to your
router, all sets would have to watch the same station and
I don't think this is what you want.

What you need is a device that is called a splitter, splitters can be purchased that will allow 1 input 2 output, 1 input 4 output, and so on, this will
allow you to take your primary cable connection, attach it to
the input, and then you need to run coxial cable (normally
RG6) to each of your rooms where you want to have a
cable connection.

Go down to your local Radio Shack, Circuit City etc.. and they
will have all of the cables and splitters you need.

The link is to help you better understand using coax and
splitters, forget all the math that is included, you will lose
some signal strength but who wants to calculate it
