Do i call for a tv heir or other equipment for my plasma tv?

i have be using analog tv for many years and own finally decided to buy a panasonic plasma tv. the tv set i am going to buy have an integrated ASTC and has HDMI (whatever that is) for the upcoming modification to digital in 2009.

i hear almost hdmi cables and other types of equipment approaching tv receivers. i also looked-for to add that the antenna i use for my analog tv is one of those long abnormal looking wires on top of houses.

i be wondering if i needed any accessories for my tv to receive the hd local channels and know how to fully utilize the hdtv functionalities (for local tv). i do not have or want cable or satellite. appreciation!

Answers:    The plasma, having integrated ATSC, funds it has a digital TV tuner built surrounded by (presumably High Definition, but possibly Standard Definition, you should check) . You don't need any other equipment to view HD TV (unless it's only a SD tuner, surrounded by which case you inevitability a HD set top box - an external digital tuner device).

FYI, HDMI is a type of connection/cable. It carries digital video and digital surround audio within the same cable. It's possible your set top box will hold HDMI output, which can plug into the plasma's HDMI input.
ATSC takes effort of it
