Question 1: Plasma is around 4 times as heavy.
Question 2: Plasma produces much more heat, enough to cost around 30 bucks a month to run on a 42 in size while most lcd tvs are energy star rated products.
Question 3: Plasma not to be laied on its side becuase the glass that makes up the screen is made to only be supported in a vertical position.
Question 4: Yes laptops and lcd tvs are the same technology, except that the tvs usually have a much faster processor attached to them.
Question 5: Plasma can be made in smaller sizes but the nature of the technology is such that it would be far to expensive to produce and thus the unit cost would be much higher than similar size lcd tvs when you go below 37 in.
