Sky illusion eye and sky plus troubleshooting - can you relieve?

We have purely bought 2 new tv - one within bedroom, one in kitchen. We have Sky come and install a sky+ box in kitchen and that adjectives works fine. My husband has purchased a sleight of hand eye (we set up and had one beforehand!) to allow us to access the sky+ in the bedroom. He's followed adjectives instructions (double checked by my father!) and run a cable from sky+ box through wall, outside and up and back into bedroom. The artifice eye lights up which suggests that power is getting through but we still can't change the channel!
* He's tried connecting the magic eye to a portable tv next to a different piece of cabling and this still doesn't work (suggesting the electrics isn't the problem)
* We have a sky+ remote for upstairs which brightly changes volume etc so remote isn't problem!
* He have enabled RF2
* He has checked the tricks eye on the Sky in the lounge and contained by here it works (but that is a average sky box not + and a completely seperate system/wiring!) So don't think tricks eye is problem!

Can you help??!!
