Heard a poping nouns which come from the TV.Smell of something burning on the inside.Tv does't turn on ne more

The tv is a old Sony Flat peak tv. IT was manufactured contained by 1993. the Model number is KV-27V55. I have taken it apart and I'm trying to find the inflict of the problem. I think something on the inside might hold blown apart because I could smell something burning. The tv no longers turns on no image and no nouns.

Answers:    You may be in luck near this when it comes to finding out what is wrong !! Your description fits that of an electrolytic capacitor being cooked and hopefully bursting its overnight case , if so then it should be locatable beside a visual inspection ! Look for capacitor near bulging case and use your sense of smell to aid the hunt ,The capacitor in cross-examine though could be any where within the set as it will form part of a subsidiary voltage supply to some part of the set be it for nouns --vert deflection or horiz drive or any such supply .
Now if you locate the offending cap your troubles are not over because you will later have to find the diode that have gone short circuit to cause the hat to fail. I will telephone call a halt here while you digest what I have said so far !! But other I advise a call on to TV w/shop and obtaining an estimate for the repair which is a run of the mill livelihood !!
Cheers Pete
The capacitor on the power supply unit might have blowned. to replace the power supply unit for this model might not be cost important. Will suggest that you buy a new tv. cos a alien CRT tv with 29" eyeshade are not that costly nowaday.
