My friend has a 42 in plamsa and when you turn it on it has a fuzzy light center and the fuzzyness spans out tward all edges of the TV then the TV shuts itself off. You have to unplug the TV before you can turn it back on. You can barly see the picture in the background

Sounds like the plasma panel is bad. Not sure, get it checked out.
