Why do some commercials on tv seem way louder than the actual tv show I am watching?

I now have comcast, but I never noticed this with with my old directv subscription. Why is that?

Answer:
Advertisers want their commercials louder for 2 reasons:

1) to get your attention
2) to keep people listening even if they turn down the volume.

DirectTV makes their money off of subscriptions, Comcast makes theirs off of advertisements
The commercials pay more for louder volume because they think it will grap your attention and you might buy their product if you see it on t.v.
They don't just seem that way, they are that way. And I am reminded of it while using my remote headset and one comes on.

Change that one comes on to six come on.
Well, you never noticed it, UNTIL you FIRST noticed it.Know what I mean?

With that said, the production companies that make the advertisements can compress the sound and also can turn off the audio limiters during the recording process to make it louder.and they take Full advantage of it.
