I neeed to hook the tv up to the dvd player. Whay are the cords I need to make it work.?
Answer:
yellow red and white are the right ones and get a scart adapter for them
Component (Blue,Green,Red) + Red and White for Audio.
Check to see if your tv has the same connections.
yellow red and white are the new ones for HDTV and digital and all that other new stuff. The cables come with most players
a good site for info is this:
http://www.hometheatermag.com/
There you can find all kinds of ideas on how to connect your system depending on the tv and DVD you have.
But generally the order from best to worse connection is this:
Form Best to worse choices:
1- DVI connection or HDMI
2- then Component cables, the blue, red and green cables,
(the 2 above choices 1 and 2 are best for up to high def signals)
3- Now, next is the S-video connection, the round plug with the small pins inside, problem is you will not get high def to go through.
4- and then the worse you can do is the "banana" yellow plug connection.
so remember
best 1 are DVI or HDMI (high def signals can go throught)
then 2 is Component (red green blue cables, also high def)
then 3 S-video, no high def signal but better than...
4 the yellow "banana" plug.
ok? =)
good luck!
If your hdmi compatible than thats the way to go. if not go component(blue ,green, red). from there use s-video. than last use composite(red, white for audio and yellow for video). Using the other ways you will have to run an audio cable seperate. except hdmi. use optical audio if you can. good luck
